i want to go back to the junior high, please and thank you :( i've only been here for four days, but uhh, i think i'm ready to go.

these kids (many of whom are not kids) absolutely do not want to be here and they hate every book we read, which is so sad. also we had this one guy who came in stinking of weed and that was lowkey traumatic. like what do you mean you went to class high out of your mind? what do i do with that? apparently there was nothing we COULD do! how is that possible?? the smell was so bad i had a headache the rest of the day. ðŸ˜”

and my cooperating teacher is so ridiculously white and entitled i can hardly believe it. i'm still super friendly to her cuz i'm absolutely not antagonizing this woman who could make or break my career, but inside i'm crying. she was reading aloud Of Mice and Men earlier this week and blatantly said the n-word. (but she censored "god damn" to "gosh darn" cuz she's a good Christian.) she's actually a fairly nice person in general??? but the mildly insane opinions she pushes on the kids sometimes are just so bad. i cannot.

not to mention i recently met like 8 or 9 of the other English teachers at this school and silently imploded at the realization that every single one of them is white. i'm working at THE SCHOOL with THE MOST diverse population in all of Texas. and all the English teachers are white??? gross.

this school feels HOSTILE. i need a knight-in-shining-armor to come rescue me :/
