One of my students told me they think I'm very good at read-alouds, and I should read for an audiobook. It was a nice idea, so I actually looked up what it would take to become an audiobook narrator, but I think I'm probably not as qualified as I hoped. For one thing, they often expect you to do voices for different characters, and that's absolutely not a skill I happen to have. I can speak in a standard American accent in a standard tone of voice, with lots of fun, varied inflections as needed, but that's about it. As with most things (typing, writing, singing, etc), I'm above average, but not exceptional. Jack of all trades, master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one!
