pick up a chair my dudes

i just met a Very Cool Lady. her first words upon seeing me were "aw you're adorable!" which is pretty wild coming from a 45 year old woman. she also said this about my 51 year old mom. she is the epitome of bilingual, and she spoke to me in both Chinese and English simultaneously. first time that's ever happened to me. i feel equally cool to have understood all of it.

she apparently taught high school Chemistry back in the day™, so i was telling her how i'm a first year teacher and i'm struggling with behavior management. apparently one time she lifted a chair and the entire thing fell apart cuz it was soooo old, but all her athlete kids thought she was Super Strong and Scary in consequence 💀 so her advice to me was simply "pick up a chair!!" LOL
