culture day

attended a "culture day" assembly at school today. had to fight back tears constantly because how are these teenagers so alive and so talented??? hello????? it was a beautiful celebration of a plethora of cultures. we are the most diverse high school in Texas, after all. students dressed up in gorgeous, glittery garb and danced and performed and there were drums and sticks and whips. it was sooooo cool. what a world we live in. what an incredible bunch of cultures i know oh-so-little about.

i think i crave community.
